Justice for Ms. Kristi
Justice, according to Worldnetweb.princeton.edu, is defined as the quality of being fair or a judgement involved in the determination of rights and the assignment of rewards and punishments. Justice is also defined on Wikipedia as The concept of rightness based on moral ethics, rationality, law, natural law, religion, fairness, or equality. To me, justice means things going well for me as long as I serve God, work hard, and live a good life. No matter how you define the word justice or what it means to you, there's three things that you will always find about justice: it can be fair, unfair, and come when you least expect it.
There are many ways that justice can be fair. When justice is fair in law it keeps people from being victimized by the law. That means a person won't have to lose time out of their life in jail for something he or she did not do. A good example of this would be the brothers M., A., and J. Bazzi who were arrested by the F.B.I. because they were buying hundreds of cellphones at one time. Because there was not evidence to show that the Bazzies were using the phones for terrorist activity and it was shown that they sold a lot of phones out of their store, they were set free. Justice can also be fair with equality. A long time ago, African Americans didn't have the same rights as other Americans such as voting, living where they want, going to good schools, or using public bathrooms and water fountains. Because of Civil Rights Movement, African Americans and other minorities have same rights as any other American. Another way that justice can be fair is in life's karma. My friend Carlos always believe in taking care of his health. Since he was a teenager he always make sure that he eat right and exercise. Because of this, when he got stomach cancer and diabetes later in life, he was able to survive both and is healthy to this day.
In the same ways that justice is fair it can also be unfair. Justice can be unfair in law and end with horrible things happening. A good example of this is what happen to a man named Rasheed Moadeeb in Yemen. One night, when he was closing up his store, a man broke in with a gun to rob him. In self-defense he stabbed the robber with a knife before he could shoot him. The robber's family had a lot of money and were able to pay the judge to say he murder the theif. Because of this, Rasheed was put to death for a crime he didn't do. Equality is another area that justice can be unfair in. Because of 911 and other terrorist acts, many Americans think that Arabs are terrorists or people that can't be trusted. Because of this Arabs aren't always looked at or treated equally in America now. A final way that justice isn't always fair is in life's karma as it was with Khaleed B. He heard from his friends that the living in Louisiana was really good. That made him happy to move there and use all his money to build a new house on some land he bought. About two months after he finished building his house, Hurricane Katrina destroy it and he lost everything he owned.
A final thing you might notice about justice is the many ways it pops up when you least expect it. It can come out of no where to change a wrong legal decision made by a court of law. Because of DNA evidence, many people who were wrongly sent to jail for life have been set free. Justice can also come in surprising ways when it come to equality. When the us government let African Americans join the military during World War II, it showed that they could serve our country just as well as other Americans, and opened the door for them and other minorities to have equal rights in America. Justice can also pop up when you least expect it when it comes to life's karma. Fatima was a girl who was born with big lumps on her face and very long teeth. She was a poor girl living in a poor country. She was also very sad because she could never play with the other children or go outside because the people in her town thought she was a monster. One day justice come to her life by some doctors that came to her country from America to help children who were too poor to afford a doctor. Not only did they help Fatima look normal she ended being one of the prettiest girls in the town and she ended up marry a rich doctor.
Whether it's in law, equality, or in life's karma, justice can be fair, unfair, or pop up when you least expect it. I like to believe that if you are a good person justice, at least most of the time, will go your way.

"Brainstorming About Justice" for Kristi
Justice is not always fair. A good example of this is what happened to a man named Ali Jaed who was killed instead of his guilty father. Ali Jaed's father was a rich business man who killed a man for some reason. He didn't want to go to jail because he'd lose his business. He told his son, Ali to say that he (Ali) killed the man and he (the father) would pay to make sure he would be safe from being killed by the court. Even though the father tried to pay, the court said that it wouldn't take the money. Because of that Ali - who was innocent - was killed for a crime he didn't do. Another example of unfair justice is Ameen H. He was a guy who was very smart and worked very hard in school. He graduated with a great diploma. Even though he was smart and worked so hard to study all of those years, he ended up working at a small gas station because he couldn't find a better job in Michigan. A third example of justice being unfair is Khaled B., a guy who used to live in Louisiana. He was happy to move there because he heard living there was good. He used all the money he had to build a new house on some land he had buy. About two months after he finished building his new house, Hurricane Katrina destroy the house and he lost everything he owned. As you can see, there are many ways that justice can be unfair. Even though it don't always come out right, remember and be happy that most of the time it does.

Celebrating The Fourth Of July for Kristi
To me, the Fourth of July is a great American holiday. My favorite ways of celebrating include spending time with my family and friends, enjoying good food, and watching fireworks.
There are many ways that I like to spend time with my family and friends on the Fourth of July that are fun. Sometimes we go to a parade or museum to remember and learn about how America won its freedom from England to become a great country. If we want to stay at home, there are many fun games and activities that we do like playing chess or board games. Sometimes we go to the park for a picnic or go for a cold swim, fish, go boating, or relax at the beach. If we want to get away, we might go on a roadtrip or to a amusement park. If we have a lot of energy that day we might play sports like soccer, volleyball, football, or baseball. Though there are many things to do with family and friends, the important thing to remember is to enjoy the time you're spending together.
No matter what activity you choose to do on the Fourth of July, there's many types of good food around to enjoy. During this holiday I like to cook food out on the grill. This can be breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Most of the time I just cook my favorite meats like lamb, chicken, or beef ribs along with hamburgers and hotdogs. If I'm at a fair or amusement park I might also have popcorn or cotton candy. Watermelon and icecream are always favorite treats on the Fourth of July since it is usually very hot. There are as many types of food to enjoy on this holiday as there are things to do. When it comes to food, I believe the important thing to do is to enjoy it all.
At the end of the day, when nighttime comes, fireworks are the thing that brings my Fourth of July to a happy end. The bright reds, whites, blues, yellows, and greens that burst in the sky along with the big booms bring fun and excitement to all. If I don't feel like going to a fireworks show I also enjoy setting off fireworks at home. Just don't set them off too late or you'll wake up neighbors.
Enjoying many activities with family and friends, enjoying great food that I cooked on the grill, snacking on popcorn and cotton candy at the fair or amusement park, having cool watermelon and yummy icecream for dessert, and watching fireworks makes the best Fourth of July for me. As long as I'm off from work, this holiday is one that I will always looking forward to when summer comes.
