Summarizing for Rosemary

Summarizing means to take information and reduce it down to what is most important. You can do this by making a summary out of a main idea and supporting minor ideas. How much you summarize depends on what you are trying to reduce and what you are try to do.

The Best Place In The World for Kristi

The best place in the world is the United States of America. I believe this because of it's free culture, wonderful people, and yummy food.

American culture is a culture of freedom. The law is fair here and you are judged on how you act more than on how much money you have. People in America have equal rights no matter where you are from or what color your skin. If you don't like something you can say so because of freedom of speech. You are also free to vote to elect people to make the laws.

The people in America are wonderful in many ways. Americans are nice and helpful people. They always reach out their hand when someone is hurt or need help. The people are smart here because of good education. There's always someone intresting to meet and learn about in America because its people come from come from all over the world.

Beside tasting great, American food is amazing because there so many kinds to try and enjoy. Spaghetti, pizza, and lazagna are great if you have a taste for Italian-American. Almond chicken and shrimp-fried rice are good if you want Chinese-Amercan food. Tacos and burritos are my favorites for Latin-American taste. Butter popcorn is a yummy snack at the movies or any time. Pies, cakes, cookies, and icecream are great for desert. It's not finding good food in America that's so hard, it's deciding what to eat first

Because of these things I beleive that the U.S.A. is the best place in the world for me and my family. Whether you come to live or come for a visit, there's always so much to see and do that you will always find yourself having a good time.

Paragraph Test for Kristi: A Famous Person I Like & Something Crazy I'd Like To Do

A Famous Person I Like

One famous person I like is the Egyptian comedian Adal Emam for many reasons. As a comedian, he's very, very funny andee has been making people laugh for many years. He can always make the person laugh who's hardest to laugh. He's also a great actor. Many people like him and want to make movies with him. It's been a while since I've seen him or one of he movies and I can't wait to see him again.

Something Crazy I'd Like To Do

One crazy thing I'd like to do is ride a motorcycle. If I had one and had the time, I'd like to ride from state to state in the U.S.A. and see our country. I'd also like to go motorcycle racing. It can be dangerous, yes, but I like the speed. I wish there was no speed limit. Then I could really see how fast my bike go.

Night Watch

If I was the real son of the old man, I would feel many different ways about what happened. I would feel sad for myself because I couldn't be with my father when he die. I would be angry at the hospital because they didn't get me there in time or make sure that they call me - the right guy. I'd want all of the people that did this fired. I would be very happy that the other guy stayed with my father when I couldn't be there and thank him. God would bless him because he helped my father and me.

Quiz #2 for Kristi - Solving A Problem

I am having a problem with my new house. The problem is that the basement is not finished. I need a place in my house for my kids to play freely. That place is the basement. If they play upstairs, my house will never look nice when anyone visits.
To fix this problem, I'm going to have to borrow money from my friends and family so I can hire a workman to fix the basement. I'm going to have him put in a new kitchen, bathroom, and play area downstairs with lots of toys.

The Arising Of the Light

When I first entered the halls of Henry Ford Community Collge after my graduation from Fordosn High School, I was easily engulfed in a community so strange. The mere fact that I had to mingle with strangers scared me , but it also, excited me to work hard and challenge myself to reach my goals. I felt like I needed to be strong so that I could have my piece of happiness.

People in HFCC are polite and helpful. Students are willing to help and always there for you whenever you needed them. When I first stepped to the halls of HFCC I was lost and I didn’t know where is the registration office, but a kind student came to me and gave me a hand. That kid’s name was Ali. Ali helped me a lot through my applicaton proccesses. Other random students helped me find my classes.

Also, the student in HFCC work hard to earn the grade they deserve, which motives me to work hard as well, and endeavor to improve myself. They alway try their best to be at class on time, do their homework and study day by day.

Now, as I reminisce about my first year of college, I’m so glad that I go to HFCC where students are polite and work-harders. I became motived and I always try to be better than the day before. HFCC is changing me to the better.

A Letter To The Editor

My name is Barbara Jewell, the mother of Richard Jewell. I'm writing you to tell you how
angry I am that your paper story has hurt my son and I and ruined both our lives.

Your paper reported said that he was a murderer without finding out the proper facts.
Because reporters follow him everywhere and the way the public sees him now, Richard has become a prisoner is his own home. He had to avoid going to see a dying friend because
he didn't want the press to follow and invade his friend's privacy. Your reporters have rented a apartment across the
street so they can watch and film us twenty-four hours a day. Even now, though the truth of my son's innocence has come out, your reporters bother us all the time. You owe us a public apology and to print the truth that my son, who saved many lives that day, is a hero - not a murder!

Like my son, the press also hurt Oliver Sipple - a man who saved the life of President Ford - by printing about his private life. They also bothered Rosa Lopez - a important witness in the O.J. Simpson trial - so much that she left the country.

A person's right to privacy is very important for a good life. Without it no one can live in peace.
